Anise Christmas cookies. Anise cookies are a classic Italian cookie that are packed full of anise flavor. Anise pizzelles may be my favorite, but these anise cookies are a very close second. I make anise cookies every Christmas (my late Grandmother's recipe).

  5. 20 min before cookies have dried preheat the oven to 150° C (300° F). Bake the cookies for c. 15 min. Make sure they don't turn dark. Remove the tray(s) and let dry completely. If you remove the cookies too early the bottom will come off..
  6. In a cookie box they can be kept for up to 4 weeks..

Onto my great grandmother's Anise Drop Cookies! Recently, my mom and I were talking about Jingles, the anise-flavored Christmas cookies that Salerno used to make. Remove and cool on wire rack.
