Marble cake. A marble cake is a cake with a streaked or mottled appearance (like marble) achieved by very lightly blending light and dark batter. It can be a mixture of vanilla and chocolate cake. My husband's favorite cake is Marble so I thought I could make one from scratch.

You also double wrap with two plastic bags and keep in the freezer. Make your marble cake using a purchased cake mix or mix the batters from scratch. You can bake a round layered cake or a large single layered cake. Then frost the moist marble cake with your favorite frosting or ganache.

  1. Mix flour, salt and baking powder in a big bowl..

  4. Divide the batter evenly into 2 portions. Put one of the plain batter straight onto cake/ loaf tin that has been greased. Add cocoa powder and grated chocolate into the other batter. Stir it well. Meanwhile preheat the oven to 190 degree..
  5. Pour the cocoa batter in each side of the tin, and make swirl shape with a spoon or cake knife. While you’re swirling it, try not to touch the base. No need to over mix!.
  6. Put it in the oven for about 40 minutes. Insert a skewer in the middle of cake, if it’s too wet bake it a bit longer..
  7. Let it cool on a cooling rack for the cake to settle. You can serve with vanilla ice cream or double cream !.
